What is on the sheet
The sheet is our own layout, made to be easy to read across a table. It has 6 columns. Each column has a space at the top for a player’s name or a game number, so you can use it for 6 players or for 6 games of your own. There is a line for the date above the grid.
Each row is one box of the game, with a short reminder of how it scores. The rows run in 2 sections.
- Upper section: Aces, Twos, Threes, Fours, Fives and Sixes, then a row for the total of those 6 boxes, a Bonus row and an Upper total row.
- Lower section: 3 of a Kind, 4 of a Kind, Full House, Small Straight, Large Straight, Yahtzee and Chance, then a Yahtzee bonus row with 3 tick boxes in each column.
- Totals at the bottom: Lower total, Upper total copied from above, and Grand total.
The sheet does not print the Joker rules for a later Yahtzee. They are in the table below and on the rules page.
How to fill it in
- Write each player’s name, or a game number, at the top of a column. Add the date.
- After each turn, write your score in 1 box in your column. If your dice fit none of your empty boxes, write 0 in an empty box of your choice.
- Fill each box once. You have 13 turns, so every box is full after your last one.
- When a player rolls a Yahtzee after already scoring 50 in the Yahtzee box, tick 1 square in the Yahtzee bonus row. Each tick is worth 100. The sheet has 3 squares in each column, so write any more ticks beside them.
- At the end, add the 6 upper boxes and write the total in the Upper boxes row. If it is 63 or more, write 35 in Bonus. Add the two for the Upper total.
- Add the 7 lower boxes and 100 for each tick to get the Lower total. Copy the Upper total below it and add the two for the Grand total. The highest Grand total wins.

Keep score on a phone instead
The Yahtzee scorekeeper gives each player a 13-box card on a phone. It adds the 35-point upper bonus at 63 or more and 100 for each Yahtzee bonus, then shows the grand total.

Questions
How do you score the upper section bonus in Yahtzee?
Add your 6 upper boxes. If the total is 63 or more, write 35 in the Bonus row. Three of each number adds up to exactly 63, so that earns it. If the total is 62 or less, there is no bonus.
How many points is a Yahtzee?
50 in the Yahtzee box, for all 5 dice showing the same number. Each later Yahtzee earns a 100-point bonus, but only when your Yahtzee box already holds 50. If you wrote 0 in that box, there is no bonus.
How many points are a full house and the straights?
A full house is 25 points, a small straight is 30 and a large straight is 40. A full house needs 3 dice of one number and 2 of another. A small straight needs 4 dice in sequence, and a large straight needs all 5.
How do you score 3 of a Kind and 4 of a Kind?
Add up all 5 dice, including the ones that do not match. The roll 5-5-5-6-3 scores 24 in 3 of a Kind. Only the upper boxes count the matching dice alone.
What is the highest possible Yahtzee score?
1,575. The 13 boxes and the upper bonus add up to at most 375. A Yahtzee on every turn after the first adds 12 bonuses of 100 each, which makes the 1,575.
When do you write a zero on the score sheet?
When your dice fit none of your empty boxes. You must fill a box every turn, so you write 0 in an empty box you choose. You can also take a 0 on purpose to keep a better box open for a later turn.
